SURGICAL OPERATING MICROSCOPE
The combination of magnification and light allows Dr. Matri to visualize the internal anatomy of your tooth during treatment; to locate, clean and fill extra canals and spaces which would most likely be missed otherwise.
The surgical operating microscope can be used in conjunction with ultrasonic instruments to remove calcifications and other blockages which have the potential to make your tooth inoperable. The magnification is also critical in diagnosing the presence of cracks in your tooth structure and determining the extent of a fracture line, which is vital in determining the prognosis of your tooth. Overall, the use of the surgical operating microscope during your endodontic treatment greatly enhances treatment and helps ensure endodontic success.
DIGITAL IMAGING
Digital imaging is safer and much quicker than its film predecessor. With digital imaging, your exposure time is 90 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging is a crucial diagnostic tool that helps us gain a better understanding of the inner workings of your mouth, more specifically the teeth, roots, and alveolar bone.
CONE BEAM COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CBCT)
A cone beam CT scan is a diagnostic tool that produces a 3D representation of your teeth, gums, nerve pathways, and underlying bone structure within a single image. We typically utilize cone beam CT scans when a regular x-ray is not enough. Cone beam CT scans are ideal for diagnosis, surgical planning, evaluation of additional canal anatomy and cracked teeth and the evaluation of the bone structure and tooth orientation.
3D imaging gives us a more comprehensive overview of your teeth and gum tissues. This allows us to better diagnose any potential problems and determine the next step in an effective treatment plan.
